This Sun Mask represents the connection between the Sun, the Killer Whale, and the Wolf. The upper ray shows the Killer Whale’s tail pointing downward, representing the whale bringing food to the people. The remaining rays continue the relationship between the Killer Whale and Wolf around the Sun.
Together, these figures connect the ocean, the rivers, and the families who have depended on them for generations. The mask speaks about provision, responsibility, and the balance between people and the natural world. Each crest carries its own meaning, but together they form one story about the relationships that sustain families, communities, and the lands and waters around them.
